3rd Annual Axe Taekwon-Do Invitational USTF Taekwon-Do Tournament (By Ms. April Bowing, 4th dan):  On June 5th, we hosted our invitational tournament. There were schools from Colorado, Kansas and Missouri that graced us with their competitiveness. Everyone did a great job! As in every sport there are people who win medals and those who do not. Do not let this discourage you from participating in tournaments. As General Choi stated, “Hours spent on training will not be wasted; for surely you will reap a rich reward in the form of speedy reactions and deadly blows to rain down upon your enemy or in any case to save life if and when a need arises.” In a tournament “deadly blows” are certainly not in store for anyone, but if you train hard you may reap rewards! Promotion Testing (By Master Todd):  It is that time again.  We will conduct the next promotion testing in class on Thursday July 15th, starting at 6pm.  Since this is a normal class time I do not expect any students to miss this testing, you have time to adjust your schedules now.   We should be able to test everyone in about 2 hours.  I will approve those students recommended to me for testing from Mr. Bushor by July 1st.  As I mentioned in class, everyone should be ready to test.  Our job is to ensure you are ready. Your job is to attend enough classes and train.  If you are missing for other sports or activities you need to make those classes up.   We have 3 classes twice a week, there is no reason any student should not be ready.  My goal is not to push you through the ranks as fast as possible.   It is to ensure you are ready and that you progress through the ranks.  You can’t spend your life at one belt rank.  You can’t become stagnant.  I want you to keep challenging yourself and I will do the same with you.   TKD Camp:  The "Week-End with Region 6 – 2010" is scheduled for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday; July 30th, thru August 1st.  It will be at the Missouri Military Academy in Mexico Missouri.  The cost is $95.00 per student, with a Family Rate of $80.00 each for 2 or more students from the same family.  Parents, etc. who wish to attend (not participating in the TKD classes) will only be charged $70.00 per person.  The Fees includes training, meals, pool, and a place to sleep. Everyone who wishes to attend will need to fill out a registration form and pay a $25.00 registration fee no later than June 29th.  Registration forms and deposits can be given to Master Todd or Mr. Bushor.  Details and directions are available at www.axetkd.com.
Campers will depart from the Youth Center parking lot on Friday, July 30th at noon, and we will return to the Youth Center Sunday evening, August 1st.  Master Todd and Mr. Bushor will make sure we have rides for everyone who wants to attend the camp.  This is a weekend of training that will teach you more that you would normally learn in a month of regular classes, plus the opportunity to learn from some of the best instructors in the USTF.  Don’t miss it!
Class C Instructors Course (By Ms. April Bowing, 4th dan):  The Class C Instructors course is scheduled for March 26th and 27th of 2011 here in Bellevue. If you are, or will be, a black stripe or above it will be better for you to attend this since it is local and a requirement.  Also, you don’t have the added cost of travel. BUT you do not need to be a black stripe or above to attend. If you are a red belt or below you may still attend, but will be asked to leave after we have gone over your pattern. It is never to soon to start saving!  Students that want to make deposit payments can contact Mr. Bushor.   Schedule 2010:Jul – Promotion Testing – July 15th
