What type of pets do you have and what are their names: A Carin Terrier named Krackers, Guinea pig named Kenny and a Hamster named Kodae  
What did you want to be when you were a child: A teacher
Favorite part of class:   I enjoy when the instructors demonstrate because they make it look so effortless and I hope to get to that point one day
Where were you born:   Elisabethtown, NC
What countries/states have you lived in: North Carolina, Texas and Nebraska
What sports/hobbies do you have other than Taekwon-Do:   Reading, cooking and making crafts
What is your favorite food: Italian  
Highest level of education: I have a masters degree in Social Work (concentration on families and children) from UNC (go Tarheels)
Current profession:  I am a domestic diva (okay house mom)
During your career, what was your favorite job: 
My favorite job has been as an Early Childhood Interventionist for children with disabilities
 What would you like others to know about you: I love to laugh and I do it alot. The most challenging and yet the most wonderful thing I have yet to do is be a mom (and I can still say that with one of them being a teenager) And oh yes I really want to break a board or two.
    

 

1. Why did you start Taekwon-Do: After my son started and I began watching I thought it would be something I would enjoy
2. What made you interested enough to join:  The energy and discipline
3. What did you think being a black belt meant before you started training:   That it was a belt given to someone with years of physical training
4. What do you think being a black belt means now:  
That it is a belt given to a person with years of physical and mental training who has dedicated lots of time to practice

 

 

5. What changed your opinion: Class and the information provided to me. As well as how hard it was for me to prepare to test for white belt yellow stripe.
6. What was your goal when you started Taekwon-Do:  
I guess I woudl have to say it was to get a little exercise and do something that my children were interested in.
7. What is your goal now:  
Now my goal is personal. I really would like to cultivate the techniques of TKD so that I would be able to effectively use them if I had to.
